RETHINK Athens will have a strong presence at TEDxAthens 2013 (which is taking place on the 29th and 30th of November at the Onassis Cultural Center under the general title “Uncharted Waters”), confirming its efforts towards a constant, seamless communication with the Athenian Citizens.
More specifically, Rethink Athens will participate in the event with two speakers, Mr. Panayiotis Tournikiotis, Professor of Theory of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and Mr. Yiannis Tsiomis, Professor of Theory of Architecture and Urban Design at the École National Superieure d'Architecture in Paris and Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, also in Paris.
This joint lecture of the two professors entitled “From charting the city, to the uncharted waters of TEDxAthens” will have the form of a dialogue between the two distinguished scientists who will discuss the ways in which public space is designed in contemporary cities with a long history.
Starting point of the discussion will be the upcoming reorganization of the center of Athens on the axis of Panepistimiou Street, a project whose technical studies have been completed with funding of the Onassis Foundation, whereas within the same framework, an analysis of similar examples in Europe and of the dynamic prospects of Athens, will take place.
The two scientists are scheduled to address the TEDxAthens 2013 audience on Friday 29/11 at 18:45 at the Onassis Cultural Center.
For those that will not be able to attend all of the TEDxAthens lectures, Rethink Athens in collaboration with TEDxAthens offers the opportunity for live streaming of the entire program, through a Simulcast event that will take place at the amphitheater of the National Archaeological Museum on both days (Friday 29/11: 17:00-21:00 & Saturday 30/11: 11:00-21:00, free admittance, entries can be submitted at https://www.eventora.com/en/Events/tedxathens2013/, with priority order)
